The Greenland and Faroe Islands are autonomous provinces of Denmark.
From 8th to 11th century, the Danes were known as Vikings, along with Norwegians and some others. Viking explorers first discovered and settled Iceland in the 9th century, also Greenland and landed in North America, in Newfoundland (today province in Canada).
In the winter sunrise is coming in Denmark at around 9:30 A.M. and sunset at
4:30 P.M., but summer days are stretching from 3:30 A.M. until sunset at 10:00 P.M.
