    Generally speaking:

  • Berbers were first inhabitants of Algeria, since more then 10,000 years ago.

  • Country's highest peak is located in The Ahaggar Mountains (or the Hoggar Mountains), in southern Algeria (central Sahara). Mount Tahat stands at 3,003 meters (9,852 ft.).

  • Majority of Algerians speak Arabic, while a minority speak Berber language. Large number of Algerians speak also French language.
