Spring may have arrived more than a month ago but as they say it’s not over until it’s over, and that applies to the winter weather throughout Canada. This year winter was not as usual, at least for some of us, but the last snow in April did not disappoint many parts of Canada (discover).

After the April snow in Montreal we can usually say that another winter is behind us

In Montreal, last serious snowfall (that would be 15cm + (6 inches +)) was around New Years day, but weather stayed cold enough until early March so there was plenty of ice skating, skiing and sledding.

In this part of Canada spring this year came early and in March and April we had many exceptionally warm and sunny days. Nature woke up 3-4 weeks earlier than usually does, so snow is surprise only for already green trees and blossoming tulips who got covered with a white blanket of wet snow. What consequences will it have early spring and late snow on fruit orchards, vineyards etc. we’ll find out soon enough since this hopefully last snow of the season will be replaced with warm 20° C (68° F) in the next few days.

Many enjoyed fun on the snow and ice despite the low temperature of – 11°C (12.2° Faranheit), with wind chill index of – 20°C (-4° Faranheit) and 15 cm of fresh snow falling.

Literally thousands of people were in “Parc du Mont Royal” (photos), some ice skating beside Beaver Lake Pavilion, some sledding down the hill above the Beaver Lake or “Lac des Castors”, some cross country skiing and other enjoying other outdoor activities on the snow.

As we all now know another great tool from Google got to the great white north – Canada. Now, everyone around the world can walk the streets of 11 Canadian cities and be surrounded with the photographic 360° view.
Navigation is simple to use, images are crisp with only here and there blurry moving car and peoples faces being blurred to protect their privacy. Another thing that this days came to the attention of Torontonians on Google maps is one “little” but tall ‘double up’ – two CN Towers viewed from certain angle on one of the streets of Toronto.
